In November last year, Netflix entered the gaming waters with a shy offer of Android and iOS games, however, this is just the beginning, assures investors CEO Reed Hastings in an interview that you can watch on Youtube.
After another good quarter for Netflix, investors were interested in what the plans are for the future when it comes to video games.
Reed Hastings admits that the whole thing is still in its infancy, and Netflix is currently in a "crawling" phase.
"Like a child, once we learn to crawl, we will work on walking and then on running," the Netflix CEO euphemized.
He explained that Netflix, like some others (Google, Amazon, etc.), does not want to rush things "just to be there".
"We need to satisfy our subscribers by being the absolute best," revealed Netflix's ultimate goal, which they want to achieve in a planned way, by building a foundation, not like the competition by throwing cash into the hatch.
Netflix also has hired an EA boss to introduce them to gaming.
The catalog of games, of which there are now 12, will grow through 2022, and whether the streaming giant has ambitions towards serious gaming, ie streaming serious games such as Stadia and xCloud, is not yet directly revealed.
